When does the event start and how long does it last?
The Christmas Train starts November 26th, 2015 and runs Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday through December 27th. (Closed November 29)

Can I be a part of the Historic Jefferson Railway team?
Yes, we are always looking for great support staff. Contact our

What should I wear?
Our attraction is located outside. We recommend dressing in layers depending on the weather. The early evening may start off warm and cool down as the sun sets and may become quite cold. We may encounter insects in the evening hours. Be sure to apply mosquito repellent.
Can I buy tickets online?
Yes, tickets can be purchased online at http://dbr.opnseo.com/rail-lights-2014/.
Online tickets are not available on the day of the event. You can call for ticket reservations on the day of the event. 903-742-2041.
How do I get there?
We are in downtown Jefferson, at the east end of Austin Street,
across the railroad tracks. 400 E. Austin, Jefferson, TX 75657
Is parking available?
Yes, there is public parking near the depot. We do have handicap parking in front of the train.
How much are tickets?
$15-20 plus applicable sales tax. 10% discount available for groups of 20+.
Lap Children under 4 are free.
If I order tickets on-line, will they be mailed to me?
No. Tickets purchased online are e-mailed to you once you complete the checkout process. You must present your e-ticket at the Will Call window to get your boarding passes. The email ticket alone will not get you into the events. Any duplication of E-tickets to allow multiple entries constitutes fraud and may be prosecuted.
What are your office hours at the depot?
The depot opens at noon each day of the event. We will return emails and calls at that time in the order in which they were received. We are closed Monday, through Wednesday but will respond to urgent email and phone messages as time allows.
Can I get tickets by phone or at the Depot?
We take phone and walk-in orders at the Historic Jefferson Railway each day of the event beginning at noon. The depot is located at 400 E. Austin in Downtown Jefferson. Boarding passes for phone and walk-in orders are picked up at will-call. Tickets can be purchased for any available train ride.
How long does the Rail of Lights Train take?
Rides take about 40 minutes.
Is seating limited on the train?
Yes, seating is limited so buy your tickets early.
Can I bring my camera?
Yes, you may take pictures on the train..
When is a good time to board the train?
You should be IN LINE at the boarding platform 15 minutes PRIOR to the departure time of your scheduled train. If you bought your tickets before the event, you MUST pick up your boarding passes at least 30 minutes before train departure time. If you have not picked up your boarding passes at least 30 minutes before train departure time, they will be sold to our stand-by customers. Be sure to allow plenty of time to park your car, and to get your boarding passes before you head to the train.
Are alcoholic beverages allowed on the premises?
No. Nor do we allow public intoxication, drugs or weapons.
Can I take food and/or beverages on the train?
Yes, we allow food and beverages on Coach Class. However, food and beverages cannot be taken into First Class Coach..
Are there concessions available for purchase?
Yes. Snacks and beverages are available.
Will you be open if it rains?
We do open during light rains. Please check the website during inclement weather. We will have updates as to whether or not we will be open.
Do you have a rain/refund policy?
Yes, in case of inclement weather situations or mechanical issues where the train DOES NOT RUN (late runs and delayed starting do not apply), passengers may receive the calculated refund value in the form of an exchange voucher valid for future Historic Jefferson Railway events OR passengers may receive the calculated refund value in the form of cash, check or credit to credit card depending on the form of payment that was used for the ticket(s) being refunded. For refund of individual tickets, less a 10% refund service charge, cancellations must be made more than 3 days in advance. Within 3 days, you will receive a 50% refund. There will be no refunds the day of the event. No portion of the ticket convenience fee will be refunded. Cancellations will not be honored unless you speak directly with a depot ticket agent or receive a direct reply to an email. We will not accept cancellations via phone messages or email for which you have not received a confirmed reply. It is your responsibility to follow up to be sure that we have received your message. Group tickets are nonrefundable.
Do you offer group discounts?
Yes, we offer a 10% discount for groups of 20+. Group discounts and school field trips must be arranged directly with Melissa Moit, Manager, 866-398-2038, Group tickets are non-refundable.
Do you have special rules?
Yes, smoking is only allowed in designated areas. No alcohol allowed on the premises. No weapons. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. For the protection and safety of your children, we ask that you maintain visual contact with your child or children at all times. Patron voluntarily assumes all risks of injury, loss or damage to person or property whether occurring prior to, during, or after the event. Patron agrees that the owners and managers of the event and its employees are expressly released by patron of any claims arising from such causes. Management reserves the right, without the refund of any portion of the ticket purchase price, to refuse admission to or reject any person whose conduct is deemed by management to be disorderly, who uses vulgar or abusive language or who fails to comply with these or other management rules.
Can children under 16 attend the event without an adult?
Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult (someone 18+). For the protection and safety of your children, we ask that you maintain visual contact with your child or children at all times.
Can you accommodate wheel chairs on the train?
Yes, we can accommodate wheel chairs in Coach Class – but need advance notice so that we reserve the handicap space on the train for your party. Please arrange ahead of time with Melissa Moit, Manager, 866-398-2038, x707 as wheel chair space is limited.
Access for Physically Challenged Persons
There are two steps leading into the front lobby of our depot. There are also three steps leading to the upper area and to the bathrooms. We do have a ramp that can be accessed at the back of the depot which gives entry to the upper depot level and the bathrooms.
Do you offer handicapped parking?
Yes, we have handicapped parking conveniently located in front of the train.
Where do I get information on other Historic Jefferson Railway events? Just visit our website, www.JeffersonRailway.com. We update the site regularly with new information on our events.
Is there an RV Park convenient to the event? Yes, we are accepting reservations at the Diamond Don RV Park. This is one mile from the Historic Jefferson Railway. The Rail of Lights Train runs through the RV park. You can also see the New Year's fireworks shows form the RV Park.

Just a few more general rules:
Please turn off cell phones while participating in the attractions. Please keep conversations to a minimum so that those around you can enjoy the narrated story. Vulgar or obscene language or behavior will not be tolerated. Persons behaving as such will be immediately escorted off the property and no refunds will be given.
